Our history is
House of Tiles
Harry Chesling hails from the early days of Plumbing, Sanitary ware and Tile Industry when there was still very little knowledge and product available. His son, Lloyd Chesling, remembers the early days with great fondness.
As a little boy, Lloyd would spend his Saturday mornings in the stores of Aubrey Bredell’s clipping pallets and riding Pallet Jacks. Little did he realise that this was going to be the beginning of a lifelong passion for the tiling industry.
Harry Chesling, known throughout Port Elizabeth as the best salesman in town, is renowned for his loving disposition and drive for excellent customer service.
Kenzan Tiles was born out of a partnership with Robin Douglas-Jones, founder of DJ Mosaics, and when Robin recognised Harry’s potential he immediately gave him the opportunity to break into the industry.
Robin eventually sold out of the business and as a result, House of Tiles was born. The new showroom was opened at 24 Buckingham Road, but eventually moved to its current home at 203 Main Road Walmer.
